I want to use ffmpeg to access my webcam. I tried: ffmpeg -f v4l2 -i /dev/video0 output.mp4 but I am getting an error: Unknown input format: 'v4l2' Similarly with video4linux2 instead of v4l2.

Apr 23, 2014 · I created a script in ~ called toggle_backlight.sh. It runs the V4L2 capture application (hyperion-v4l2) and sets the LEDs accordingly. I can invoke it again to turn off the LEDs. As a future modification I intend to control this with my harmony remote or some other method. If someone comes up with something cool, please share.
